Phil started his musical journey studying the organ from aged 10. On graduating as a software engineer Phil began his career as a computer programmer during which time he was regularly performing as a vocalist and keyboardist. In 2004 he was asked to score his first soundtrack to a short film and has since gone on to write for many feature films, the second of which, 'Veiled Existence' , premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. He has also composed for many corporate videos, animations and short films including Norman Wisdom's last film 'Espresso' and more recently 'Waiting In Rhyme' starring Les Dennis, both in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

He has also written for theatre including the music to the 2009 series of monologues 'Survisorship'.

In 2008 Phil created his own crossover-classical-pop ensemble Fordante. The 'mini-orchestra' can often be seen performing his unique film and classical inspired music alongside popular film scores.
